Tammy Propst Joins Greenville Local Development Corporation’s Board of Directors
Greenville, SC — Sept. 25, 2024— The Greenville Local Development Corporation (GLDC) and The Innovate Fund are pleased to announce that Tammy Propst, founder of The Innovate Fund, has joined the Board of Directors of the GLDC. This strategic addition reflects a continued commitment to strengthening the economy in and around Greenville, SC through support to small businesses.
Since its inception in 1979, the GLDC has been dedicated to overcoming financial barriers faced by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBCs) in the Greenville, South Carolina area. With the establishment of its New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program, Greenville New Markets Opportunity, and the subsequent formation of The Innovate Fund (TIF) in 2011, the GLDC has broadened its impact across South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, and West Virginia. Together, these initiatives have created over 7,000 jobs, provided community services to over 400,000 low-income community residents, and developed/ redeveloped over 3 million square feet of real estate in underserved communities.
Tammy Propst, who also serves on The Innovate Fund’s Board of Managers, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the GLDC. Under her leadership, The Innovate Fund has deployed $377 million in NMTC allocations, generating an economic impact of over $2 billion in low-income communities throughout the Southeast.
